How is it done?

So, I want to become part of the "blog mom" world. I want to share my ideas and stories with other moms. But the problem is, HOW? Some ladies with craft blogs have sponsors and people advertising on their blog. I want to do that! I want to sell my ideas and my crafts and creations. I want to make people laugh and have a place where moms can swap funny kid stories and advice. But how? I have 9 followers! Anyone have any ideas?

  1. For selling your crafts you could get an Etsy page. I don't know how to get blogs more noticed or anything, i would like to do that too though! Share stories and advice and such. Let me know if you find out how to do it!

  2. I know that on some of those craft blogs you can submit a tutorial/project and they may feature you, that would get your name out, also in the comments I've often seen people invite the bloggers to their site. Also, sometimes blogs "feature" so-and-so and I think that helps to build some of the same audience.... I just googled it, and problogger.net looks like it's got lots of tips and advice.... Good luck!

  3. If you would like to get advertising on your blog you can go to your design format and then go to the Monetize tab abd they explain about advertising. To get more followers you can have friends or family add you to the blogs they follow on there blogs (I have you on mine http://agirlnamedmichael-mj.blogspot.com/) and then post your blogs to FB and or twitter. In addition you can ask more friends and family to "share your blog" on their FB walls asking there friends to follow you.
I am not sure how you would sale your crafts but I hope this helps a little.

  4. I wish there was a perfect way to make a really popular blog! But I'm afraid a lot of it is luck. For what it's worth, I love reading your posts! :)

The only way I've gotten 24 followers is to slowly accumulate them by telling people about my blog. I occasionally link it on facebook. But mine is more of a personal blog, not a sales or a crafting blog. There are a few websites that put your blog in a long list, like http://www.mormonmommyblogs.com/
I've been doing this one for a while, though, and haven't seen a large increase in traffic. You can hunt around for places like that if you wish, but the best way I've found is just word of mouth. And, post frequently. People only check your blog as often as you post!

  6. http://www.housewifeeclectic.com/p/housewife-eclectic-blogshare-community.html, You can add your blog to this listing here. You can submit for tutorials to blogs. I'd say, start by making yourself a button to have other people put on their blogs too. If you ever want to submit a tutorial to my blog, I would love to feature you.

  7. I would agree with those who have commented before me. Content would be the number one priority, posting at least once a week, and joining some sort of list or network. Several of the blogs I follow are on the blogHer network, http://www.blogherads.com/ , which is designed specifically for women bloggers or those who have a specifically female audience.
Good luck, I hope to see whatever you decide to do!
